Verified ReviewerResolved: Costco's new off-shoot photo service "Capture"
- 150 slides were sent for scanning.
- They auto-fixed by blurring scans to hide dots and spots.
- Order took 30 days, plus 10 days to ship.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I sent in samples of the slides they had scanned with ones I scanned.
Clearly theirs were blurred.
The subcontractor was sympathetic and refunded my money. They are working on fixing the auto-correct.
I sent in 150 slides to be scanned. They took it upon themselves to auto-fix.
Because they are old '50s and '60s slides, they naturally acquire dots and spots. The company took it upon itself to fix these by BLURRING each scan (like the PhotoShop tool). Drives me nuts.
I don't want anyone messing with my photos. Also the order took exactly 30 days before they sent back which took another 10 days.
- On-line ordering convenient
- In my case
- Bad quality scans of slides
Preferred solution: Change policy of fixing the customers photos.

Verified ReviewerAngry that Costco signed off to Shutterfly
- Costco switched to Shutterfly, three times the price.
- I've loved Costco photos for decades.
- No longer use Costco photo services.
Costco signed off to Shutterfly, which is 3 times the price of Costco. I've loved Costco photos, & have had photo cards and photo calendars done there for decades. No longer.Go toOth
I thought Costco was budget minded, and don't understand why they would hand their business off to a significantly more expensive photo center.
User's recommendation: Walmart and other photo services
Calendars
- Customer asks if calendars are still being processed to be delivered before Christmas.
